    RMA howto, and what happens

    Hello all,

I blew a motherboard doing a bios swop about 2 months ago but ive had alot on exams and such which have just finished and I feel that its about time I RMA the board. Now ive never RMA before apart from sending things back to ebuyer and they sorted it out. I got this board as part of a pre built system but it blew through no fault of my own, i upgraded the bios and then prefered the older bios so tried to downgrade and then the board froze. It was well within the 12 month warranty and I think i have to contact asus directly but i have never done it before so I wanted a bit of advice.

How does one go about getting an RMA number, do you just get a replacement board? Do you have to pay postage? Is there any way to get cash? Will asus do this or do I have to go back to the person who built the pc?

    Thanks for everyones time

Who did you buy the PC from, was it a company or a person?

If it's a company it might be best to go through them. If it's asus then contact them and see what they can do for you, but they might want an invoice for the motherboard itself, i'm not sure.
