it started off with one pc for everything... then i managed to source some old redundant Pentium 3 pcs which i used for linux server hosting mp3's and movies.

Then i done away with them and just built a beast server that did all the jobs of the seperate boxes quite well. I call it my media centre, even though it is just a linux box with glftpd installed and a zipscript.. xbmc is still able to browse its shares and stream from them.

my other pc is a c2d e6600 which i use for everything else.. gaming, surfing, download, burning...

My main rig is a dev box, soon to be degraded to webserver/fileserver when I get my new box built.

Laptop is used for bed/sofa based surfing and the PDA is used for Tomtom/boredom when out and about.

Re: What do you se your main system for?

My own Main PC is used to download loads of stuff from bbc iplayer and 4OD while I'm working as well as gather all the latest and greatest live DJ mixes from various sources. When it's not doing all this, I'm usually playing Civ4, COD4, CS Source and a few other games.

Also, this is my media centre system so it's used for streaming downstairs to the squeezebox and xbox360 when required.

My mates laptop is used for sporadic browsing and even the Wii's used for browsing when I'm bored.
