Would go for better HSF and also the 2232bw in respect of the Samsung.
The DVD drive if you ahvent ordered it is the Samsung 203 Sata.

They are.....but you can pick up a good brand 8800GTS G92 now for under £180 if you look hard enough.
Some of the 'lesser brands' are coming in at around £160-£170.

    Re: New PC £1k-1.2k

I have that gigabyte board. I initially had some issues with overclocking my E4300 >2.2GHz, because the bios only offered SPD for 3.5 and 4.0+. A quick flash to F8a bios sorted it, I now have 2.66 as a value for SPD as well. My E4300 is now running at 2.7GHz and I know my chip will run at 3.2GHz (had a Abit board before) so I will be doing some more OC'ing when I have some spare time

Which HSF? The maximum height of the cooler may not exceed 78mm.

What's better about that monitor? Looks like it's actually the exact same panel when you look at the specs.

The 3870x2 is really really long. I'm sure it won't fit in the case because 8800 GTX won't even fit in unless I would remove the hard drive cage.

    Re: New PC £1k-1.2k

I've been researching about the 2232bw monitor and it does seem to be a better monitor so I'll go for that one. Thanks for the advice 999tigger!
