Well basically it seems that ever since I've aquired a Logitech Wireless Multimedia keyboard and mouse set (not the set with the MX700, the set with the Cordless Mouseman Optical :P ), Unreal Tournament runs really jolty in-game. It's like the frame-rate is there, but it just jolts rather a lot :confused:
It doesn't happen with any other games, just UT.
Any ideas? Are there any issues I should know about, and how to fix them?
Unless you installed the logitech drivers I can't see how it would affect UT.
Tried removing the drivers, updateing them, reinstalling UT. Basic stuff i know but its all I can think of, cos thats just wierd :confused:
asssumign its using direct input/d3d, this might help.
goto diplay propertys, settings tab, click advanced, then goto the trouble shooting tab. there should be a slider for adjusting hardware acceleration. try it on down - that disables hardware mouse cursors, and can fix that prob in many games.

It's wierd. Only does it in Unreal Tournament (which happens to be my favourite FPS of all time), not any other of my games. It's kinda like full frame rate, but it jumps/jolts quite frequently. :confused:
Although I'm using a mx700, I've noticed the windows native drivers perform far better than the logitech ones.
Have you tried with just the native mouse drivers?
I don't want to remove the Logitech drivers as I use the programmable buttons, etc. I'd prefer to get it working with these drivers somehow :s
you have to use logitech drivers for the extra buttons? (assuming your using win2k/xp - im v glad i didnt get a logitech then...)
with drivers the programmable buttons are usually useless - its best to bind them in the programs you are using. with standard win2k/xp drivers any extra buttons are called mouse3/mouse4/mouse5 etc...
Eeeeeeeeerrrrr...nope...I use an MX500, and unless you have the Logitech drivers installed, the buttons simply aren't detected. It'll pick up the left and right buttons, the wheel, and wheel click, but that's it.Quote:

It sounds like the logi drivers are "polling" constantly to check for a signal from the keyboard/mouse (which it needs to do to process movements/keypresses) - however, in addition to trying windows native drivers from a troubleshooting perspective (only) also set UT2003 process priority to "high" and see if that alleviates the jerkiness.
I'm not sure whether you can see the logitech driver utility in Task Manager (ages since I used logi drivers), but if you can set this to process priority of "low" and see if this improves it (by setting UT2003.exe to high will ensure that it always gets first bite of the cherry).
I haven't got an MX700/900 to try unfortunately.
