Abit IP35. As for RAM get PC6400, 2x2Gb from any reliable manufacturer, e.g. Crucial, OCZ, Geil Corsair, based on price.

SCAN have the IP35 Pro on Today Only for £88 which is a terrific price for that excellent board - nearly £30 off & only £11 more than the standard IP35
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK.

    Re: recomendions on m/board

The P35 Intel chipset is generally highly rated at the moment - not quite as overclockable as the X38 (or indeed newer X48) but much better value for money.

Cheaper than this chipset is the G31 and G33 chipsets, but if you are building it yourself for yourself, and you want to have some room to grow, overclocking maybe etc, the P35 is the way to go.
Lots of people rate Asus highly, Abit are good, and Gigabyte have done well recently.
Some people will frown at MSI but the P35 Neo2-FR seems good value at £67 and Anandtech like it.
One word - these chipsets do not officially support the 1333Mhz bus speed of your CPU, although everything i read suggests they they all work unofficially.
Does anyone else have any personal experience?

Edit: I might be wrong about 1333Mhz support

    Re: recomendions on m/board

My p5k deluxe supports up to 1333 and so do the other p35 boards i've looked at. There's no problem with that. (I've been able to get my e6550 up to 2000mhz fsb anyway!)
