On the other thing, get yourself the Ultimate Edition. Its very good.
Okay, I will admit to two times – the first time, I had not specified all my requirements :-)
As to the Ultimate Edition, I assume that the Home Edition is good enough for temps, and that is all I am interested in. I do not overclock or do all the other exciting stuff.
Tomorrow pm, I will start installing.

Everest is a great ap, but if you cant get used to it then try, PC Wizard and HW monitoring CPUID :)

Hello hse:
I am using HW Monitoring now. I installed Everest, after having downloaded what I thought was the Home edition (the "final" one). However, it turned out to be Utimate, and I could not even get the trial version to open. But I figure that it is still overkill for someone who only wants to keep an eye on temperatures and occasionally check if an app uses too much resources. I also use CPU-Z. I have downloaded PC Wizard and put it in my Backburner folder, for future use (if I need it).
Thanks for the tips.

Hans L
Re: Temperature monitoring of gaphics/video cards
i use ntune, works fine :o
Re: Temperature monitoring of gaphics/video cards
Only thing is, Leon, I cannot see any CPU temperatures (I have 2 cores) in nTune. Are they there?

Seconded. for me, at least, the Vista sidebar thing is great for monitoring HDD, CPU and GPU temps.

Overwhelming support. Great. Let me ask: Do you (and others) have Ultimate or the free Home version?

Re: Temperature monitoring of gaphics/video cards
Ultimate. Which is probably overkill, TBH, for me.
If the home version has vista sidebar support (I don't know) then I'd probably have been happy with that. I can't recall now.
Re: Temperature monitoring of gaphics/video cards
Everest is overkill for me too at the moment (using XP Home). When I update to Vista, I will revisit Everest.
I'm using HWMonitor now, and it is just enough at the moment.
I appreciate everyone's input on this issue. I've learned a lot (as usual at Hexus, my favorite forum).

It places an Everest Icon in your 'Add Gadgets' box........
Re: Temperature monitoring of gaphics/video cards
If you go to File > properties in everest (I think that's right; I'm at work at the moment), it's in the list there. And you can configure waht you want to appear.
Re: Temperature monitoring of gaphics/video cards
Thanks guys, It is at the end of prefs. Never noticed.
