    water cooled hiperchassis

rather than hijack the 8600gt in a hiper chassis thread - I have posted here.

Ok, everything was too hot and noisy in my case so i have water cooled it.

I have used thermaltake blocks cl-w0088 w2 water blocks for the 690g northbridge and 7600gt.

I have used a alphacool gps-07t gpu cooler with right angled fittings on the x2 5000 overclocked to 3.0ghz.

    45deg c idle. 65deg c load - but quiet!!.

did have an alphacool nexxxos xp when i was on the 2500xp processor. However, because of the extra hieght of the IHS - i couldn't get the lid back on the case. Pics to follow shortly

    Re: water cooled hiperchassis

pump used to be a heto3800 until last saturday. I have now fitted a c-systems pump.
the radiator is a 120.2 unit from ebay - can't remember what make it is. it only has 1 fan on it now because the radiator is fitted behind my av receiver and the removed fan had nowhere to blow air to because the TV stand was in the way.

I am planning on removing the IHS from the x2 because my temps never went above 53 deg with the old athlon xp.

With a bit of luck i'll be able to fit the nexxxos xp cpu cooler back in as well.

had to remove the 1x pci-e slot with wire cutters to make way for the tubing coming from the northbridge cooler. also had to scrap the original thermaltake mounting mechanism for the gpu/northbridge coolers to squeeze everything in.

    Re: water cooled hiperchassis

    Here's a thought:

what about sending the heat to the top of the case so it can come off the top heatsink thing?

edit: thought you were talking about hiper anubis, sorry!

    Re: water cooled hiperchassis

    pics as promised.

northbridge fitted - had to remove the pci-e 4x slot to make way for the tubing

    gpu block fitted

all squeezed in - note alphacool gpu block on cpu

    alphacool nexxos xp fitted

radiator / fan / pump / homemade abs bubble trap/fillpoint.

    in its place

temps with gpu block on cpu (1.45v core)

    73 deg C - ouch

temps with nexxxos xp (1.4v core - unstable)

    55 deg load

temps with nexxos xp (1.425v core - stable)

    57 deg load.

at idle cpu temp is 42 deg C.
gaming makes the temp hit 51 deg C

    Re: water cooled hiperchassis

    never watercooled to overclock.
system started life as socket A, sounded like a dyson!!.
watercoolled to make the media pc silent.
just so happens that the overclock was feasible and do able so -why not??

wasnt long before i fancied gaming and the onboard graphix just wouldnt do it.
