I have that problem too, and it seems to reset sometimes, but not others. Very annoying, and even more annoying how I can't figure a way to fix it.

Perhaps it's just a driver fault or something? I'm not sure, not my forté, but I wish it'd stop doing it!

this SOUNDS (ie might not be) like a BIOS issue.

Cos my nforce 2 board would forget what fan speeds I had...it was ok on a restart but not if the power was turned off.

Just a thought.....hope you sort it

Have the same thing with an NF7S v2 on the original bios - gave up trying to fix it when I got an audigy 2ZS, it just had a mind of its own.

My nforce 2 with soundstorm does the same thing, what i have found is that different games and music programs will make the settings alter..

If i play a game that uses 5.1 channel sound like Gothic 2 when i go back and check the control panel it is still set on 5.1 channel sound.

But if i play any game that uses a lower amount of sounds channels like Giants or any game you have to specify the amount of sounds channels i.e. stereo, 2.1 or 4.1 sound, then the "soundstorm" control panel alters to that amount of channels too but does not reset after you finish using that game/program.

Make sure "Dolby Digital Encoding" is checked, and click Digital out, even if not using it.

Thanks agent i'll give that a try, but im sure i read somewhere that having digital output and analogue output on at the same time causes problems?

Cant remember where i read that but i've always turned digital output off, but still i'll give it a go with a few games and see if it helps
