    which motherboard?(AMD)

hi, i have now got a bit of cash and want to upgrade my mobo, i've got about £45 but £55 tops. so i've been looking at the blowot deals section over at ebuyer. but there are just so many mobos on there. i've got a xp2000+ which is the version B, it can be overclocked i've only been able to get 1.9gig because of my old mobo, so thats why i want a new one, i'd also like duel channel ddr(not esential).
so what is the best overclocking mobo i can get for £55 tops?
    thanks
    i've seen these so far-
    Asus A7V8X-X
    Asus A7N8X Deluxe ver2.0
    Asus A7v600
    Gigabyte GA-7N400-L

also are Qtec good power supplys or are the cheap and nasty?

Well, if you can get an Asus A78NX Deluxe rev2.0 for £55, then go for it. Great motherboard.

QTec are far beyond cheap and nasty, and not to be used. Go for an Antec, Sparkle, ThermalTake, Enermax, etc.

Abit NF7 or NF7-S if you can afford it (has Soundstorm and SATA support).

    Hope that helps,

A7v600 isnt as good as the A78NX/NF7 imo.
Soundstorm is great - can do 5.1, and have heard ppl say its as good as an audigy.

Q-tec psu's are cheap and nasty, but mines been running flatout for the last 8 months - so it does the job.

    Read more carefully next time

And the A7V600 is ok if you're not planning to overclock (it has no PCI lock) and if it is a LOT cheaper than the nForce2 boards!

Just get the A7N8X Deluxe. I wouldn't consider anything but an Nforce2 for an AMD system.
And also just use the PSU you're running now. Unless it's something pathetic like 250W, then it'll work fine. Mine's 300 and has been working perfectly.
I havn'et had any bad experiences with Qtec, but I've heard they're crap.

Fair enough, although the Asus A7N8X is actually on the list of motherboards mentioned, and the NF7 or NF7-S boards... aren't.

Anyway, the NF7-S I can understand, but why, wen he's thinking of getting an Asus A7N8X Delxue rev2, would he get an NF7 instead?

i didn't put the NF7's on the list because ebuyer don't sell them, and they are too expensive for me atm

New, an NF7-S is cheaper than an A7N8X Deluxe rev2.0, at the places I looked, anyway. No Abit boards in the bargain sections of eBuyer at all, or just no NF7-S?

Not that it matters, both are superb motherboards. I had 2 NF7-S boards break on me, so I swapped to the Asus, but in terms of quality there's nothing between them.

Strange. Everyone goes for the A7N8X Del or the NF7-S and have done for ages. These boards are always at the top of the 'most popular' lists that some stores do.

Not selling one of them is a major loss for eBuyer... not that I'd use eBuyer if they did, but still.
