    Re: What to do with....

Received a Stacker 831 yesterday, If you can get one from Ebuyer for £79:

    http://forums.hexus.net/current-barg...1-79-99-a.html

Then I`d say get one, but looking at it, I wouldn`t have paid £140.

This is something I really hate about buying computer bits, at least In Devon, there are no places (that I am aware of) where you could go and view a selection of cases - or any other components. You must always buy on trust, on reccomendations & that is far from ideal in my opinion & not because I don`t value opinion, but simply because it`s subjective.

    Re: What to do with....

It`s big, can`t compare it to anything other than my midi-tower - it`s my first full-tower. But when I got it out, there were two women in the room and they both said it was massive (apologies, to those with double entendre disorder).

I never had a problem physically fitting stuff into my midi-tower, but obviously cable management and general fiddlieness could be a pain.

It was my intention to build my own case from scratch, using "exotic" materials (£150 buys plenty of materials) but then I saw the deal on Ebuyer - free delivery too.

From looking at the specs. On Scan, I thought it wouldn`t have the removeable motherboard - which it does. The only negatives I feel so far, not having used it yet, was that the aluminium is quite thin (probably no thinner than most - just used to working with thick stuff). It feels heavy - which surprised me, but isn`t a problem.

I`d be very surprised if you couldn`t fit everything comfortably in there, it might not be the best case ever, but at the Ebuyer price I wouldn`t hesitate.

I guess either you're a late developer or are too young to use power tools then...

Never thought Coolermaster would have that effect upon me.

It`s the cooling fans you know.....................

Thankyou mroz, for your kind words.

Disturbedguy: I can measure its internal size later, if you would like.

@hermeticist: If you don't want any further advice that's fine, but you might find some useful info here. I can't help but think you're taking the wrong approach with the cooling fans; I hope at least you don't have them powered up during installation.

    Re: What to do with....

Depends what you want really. The Antec 900 has fantastic cooling due to an abundance of fans. It should also be quiet.

The antec P182 is my personal favourite. Still very good cooling but the thing is so wonderfully quiet

    Re: What to do with....

Sorry for delay, sizes are approximate, measured from rear of motherboard tray/back panel.

20.5" from inside rear panel to front (internal)

    14" " " to rear of 5.25" bays

12.5 " " to rear of HDD cage

9" wide motherboard tray removed (internal)

8" wide motherboard tray installed (internal)

    Hope these are of assistance.

    Re: What to do with....

Cheers guys will look at both cases

Edit: - Staffsmike, just looked at the P182 the bottom bays (Hard Drive?) are they completely removable? also whats the cooling like in one of these? it looks nice

Edit 2: - Just looked at the video of the case on the site and its pretty impressive, I am very very tempted to buy the case. It looks as if its a decent size and as if it will have ample cooling and space for extra cooling, imo going beyond using the areas already set out for the fans.

Edit 3: - Just seen the price

You think the price of the P180s is expensive? You should have a look at some proper high-end cases...

    Just ordered a Lian-Li A70b myself.

    Re: What to do with....

That was why I suggested the Stacker: £79 @ Ebuyer, but the price normally ranges in the £120-150 band. I wouldn`t have bought one at the full price.
