£80 is cheap for what you get imo.

Both hard drive cages are completely removable yeah. Cooling for the bottom drives is slightly limited to the that sits between the PSU and HDD cage. There is room for a fan in front of the cage but only for a 20mm deep fan opposed to the usual 25mm fan. You would need to mod the case to get it to take a normal fan. That said it was quite well with the fan thats there.



Red arrows show where you can add a fan at the front and on the end of the upper HDD cage to cool the gfx card. (you get clips with it to fit the fan to the HHD cage)

blue is the bottom fan I explained above.

Green is where the low profile fan would go or where you would need to mod.

Then you have the two fans for the cpu cooler, one on top and one in the usual place.

Mike do you use the cablemanagement system they have (going behind mobo tray)?

Its a very very very tempting case, i like the idea of hiding the cables, even if it will take abit more time.

How many fans do you have in it? Just the original?

Would they provide ample cooling for a system of my Spec?

I like the idea of preventing the heat from travelling up through the case.

Ive seen some of the custom artwork on the ones on the SCAN website and i think am in love xD

I've done two builds with them. Mine just uses the stock fans. The other one hasa sharkoon golf ball 1000 in front of the upper hdd cage. It was as quiet as the antec fans on low so remains basically silent.

It's got fantastic air flow though. Even without any direct air on it my gainward 8500GT silentfx (passive) stays at 39 degrees idle

The ninja works really well in there two as you can see in the pic its surrounded by fans

in that case, mine should be fine if I chose to go with this case.

My CPU cooler is a Scythe Mugen (If i remember correctly).

Ive seen the golfball fans on various sites, are they a good purchase?

I probably wouldnt use the upper HD cage so would you suggest maybe removing the cage?

Yeah it was the mugen/infinity from what I saw in the picture. It's the updated ninja, works better but requires more air flow

To be honest you can probably make use of those two fans and use one in front of the HDD cage and one one the end to give a lot more airflow into the main compartment of the case.

Golfballs are very quiet and shift enough air for HDD's but don't provide a hell of lot of air as intake case fans imo. Cheap though
I use one as an extractor on my gf's pc.. does the job.

If I were to get this case I think id use the two brand new, unopened and unused 120mm Scythe S-Flex fans and place them on the top HDD Cage.

But then again i think id need better cooling for my GFX card and as I dont feel comfortable changing the fan on the card id need to get better cooling using case fans.

Pondering, pondering, always pondering..

Now its just convincing myself that I need the case and its worth the money lol..

Thanks for the help Mike, now i need to convince myself into buying one lol..i soooo want one of the custom jobs on SCAN but couldnt bring myself to justify buying a case for that much lol!

lol yeah they do look very nice. There is the SE version of the P182 for £20 - £30 more. It's not really worth it but has a mirror finish all round and has a black interior. Looks nice but adds no extra function.

Just ordered a Lian-Li A70b myself.

You're in for a treat, I just built my system in the A71B (which I believe is the same case just with a door) and it's stunning.

The build quality is fantastic, there's tons of room, and the bundled fans (2x front, 2x inside front and 2x back) are both silent and effective.
The entire thing just reeks of quality and was a joy to work with.

I'd highly recommend it to anyone. It is on the higher end of the pricing spectrum but it's worth every penny.

Kinda know what to expect as it's replacing a Lian Li PC75, which is still a great case. That's going to work for my new build there.

A bit off-topic again: The case (as above, Lian-Li A70b) was delivered to work today and I set about starting the build (somewhat meticulously for once). Have the say the case is better than I imagined! It's so much more flexible than I thought, and it's never mentioned in any of the reviews. So far all I've done is installed new fans (got 6 120mm Noctua 1200rpms I'll be running at 7v, and another for the CPU heatsink) filled the 5.25" drive bays (1xDVDRW, 1x Aerocool FP-01, 1x3 HDD hot-swappable rack thing (2 bays) and a Creative XFI breakout box) and installed 2 of the hard drives in the standard 3.5" bit. Already I've flipped the hard drive rack around so I get more space on the left (looking at the front the case) as I prefer to have access to the SATA cables from that side, and regular straight cables were going to be too tight against the side. Flipping it allows you to move the rack further to the right side, so giving an extra centimetre or so for those SATA cables on the left.

It's all very, very customisable out of the box. Build quality is the same as my old PC75, so all good there, and there's the obvious new touches, such as the HDD mounting method.

Couldn't recommend it enough, and it costs about £70 less than my PC75 did new too.
