Is intel bring out a new socket

I am under the impression intel is replacing socket 775 is this true and what chips will use this new socket? Just wanted the info so I don't waste upgrading to wrong socket motherboard in the future.

Nehalem is due later this year and will require a new motherboard. At the moment, it's really just a battle between chipsets rather than sockets.

Yeah it's irrelevant if they keep to the same socket when they require everyone to buy a new chipset for each new processor
