hello, im building my own comp for the first time, and am wondering what case to buy. i want a good large size, efficient cooling, as cheap as i can get it. i would prefer it if i could buy it off scan.
which ones r gd value for money?
any suggestions are much appreciated.

It's got great cooling as stock and if you add more fans it gets even better. It also has cooling zones where the PSU and hard drives are kept in the bottom in their own section. It's party piece is if you are careful with your other components you can make it next to silent
The antec nine hundered is a bit cheaper and also has very good cooling
This coolermaster is pretty good value for money. Not seen or used one myself but people have mostly good things to say about it.

Red arrows are where you can add fans to directly cool the gfx card.
Inside of the P182
Antec 900 is a very good case, 2 *120mm fans in front, 1*120mm at the back and 1*200mm fan on top. Awesome cooling at a good price !

wow that case has a good layout. I may just get one of them to replace my chief tec xD i think mine was like £80(bought it with comp off my dads friend for cheap) so perhaps.
great cooling? and may i ask, how do you keep your cables so tidy? mine are like... everywhere and completely own my case.
p182 has holes so u can route cables behind the mobo. only issue is psu size is limited and the fan in front of the psu has 2 b removed in most cases.
the bottom fan is fine with the corsair which is the PSU of choiceNon modular PSU's are a pain though.
As was said, cables route behind the mobo tray (even the mobo power cable does.. just not in that picture). I'm also a bit picky when it comes to cables, this is my eclipse 62 inside.
Not a nice a combo as the corsair, P182 but it turned out quite nice with a lot of work put into it
go get a lian li a71. it pisses over the p182 and is full tower case and is lighter then a p182 as well.

I couldnt decide between the P182 and the Antec 900.
I went for the Antec 900 as the P182, on pure looks, although nice enough, looks dated.
Also, i think case with doors at the front are a bit old fashioned now.

I recently built a setup with a P182 and a non-modular psu with the obligatory forest o' cables. I have to say I was very impressed with how well the cable management system works. I'm thinking of upgrading to one now from this slk3000b which has an annoying resonant hum with 3 hard drives in that no amount of tinkering has dampened.
well finally had enough of the crap generic case that was tempoary only (although i said that 8 months ago).
i was looking at the p182, but the thing that concerned me was that the atx and cpu cables wouldn't have been long enough, even running them behind the mobo tray.
in the end i plumped for a thermaltake armor jr case. i did want the full beast version but haven't got the space at the moment (or the back muscles to lift it as it's a heavy mutha). but the junior is big enough and plenty of space and no airflow obstructions. the other plus is it's now real quiet.

that looks very similar to my chief tec just in silver, inside. I wish mine had a cable management system, cables are everywhere and i think my corsair ram are pissed off at these big cables xD.

You're right though, I should have said my PSU of choice. Still the cables being the perfect length, the fan being next to silent and even the flat modular cables help in that case I find.. pretty perfect fit.
The Eclipse is already black throughout as is the Akasa Mirage (same case different front). you can also buy a window side panel for £10 or a side panel with a 120mm fan (which i have) for about £18
It doesn't really have any formal cable management (other than a couple of holes to bring cables down from the PSU are which I don't really use) I just "carefully shoved" everything into it's new home or utilised empty screw holes to cable ties etc.. It's a huge case inside though, EATX and there's buckets of space behind the the cages and around the PSU.. If the P182 wasn't so damn good I would recommend the Eclipse in a heart beat.
If you want the insides of the P182 black you could get the SE version but other than a mirror finish on the outside and the black insides thats all you get for £30.

In fact out of the Antec and Akasa cases, i prefer the Akasa tbh anyway
lol I like both. The eclipse is very easy to work with even if cabling takes a bit more time.
i brougha coolermaster cosmos 100 and am very hapy with the layout and quiet cooling
its also got sound proofing on the side panels to keep the noise down and rubber mounted hard drives.
about £100 but well worth it.
