    Power Usage

I currently have a Enermax Liberty 500W PSU powering the following:

Dual Core Opteron 165 @ 2.7Ghz (no increase in voltage)
    2GB DDR RAM
    5 x 500GB HDDs
    8800GTX Graphics Card
    Audigy 2 Sound Card
    4 x 120mm Fans

Do you guys think its alright?

    Re: Power Usage

    My system,

    E6550 @ 2.8GHz
    2GB DDR2
    2 250GB SATA HDDs
    DVD Writer
    3870
    3 fans and fan controller

Draws 140W at full CPU load, adjusting for PSU efficiency thats ~120W add on 200W for the graphics card and 10-20W per HDD and your probably still less than 400W the issue is if you have enough power in the right voltages. I would think you would be fine though.

Get a Power meter and check

    Re: Power Usage

Good! I was thinking of adding a few more hard disks and wanted to make sure it will be fine

The Enermax PSU also pumps out 22A per 12V rail, so that should be good right?

    Re: Power Usage

It's not the specs that have us convinced, we just know Enermax make quality, efficient PSUs. And a good 500W power supply is enough for all but the craziest of systems.
