Help me spec a uber low power HTPC
Basicly I want the lowest power I can get but have the following requirements :
Pref Dual core (Not essential though)
PCI-E Slot for a HD3450 (The machine will have a Blu Ray drive)
Decent onboard audio pref optical out.
Been looking at Mini ITX but not sure if theres a board that would meet my needs?
Basicly just want to get the lowest power possible.
Needs 3 SATA ports as well.
Basicly it just needs to be able to handle Blu Ray decoding.

I've got an Asus M2A-VM and X2 5000+ BE but you could swap the cpu to this
this
With the 5000+ i'm pretty sure the onboard graphics can handle blu-ray but for obvious reasons I havn't tried it.

Got the 45w BE in my file server atm and that pulls 150watt under load, just wondered if I could get the power draw down more?

The are expensive though as are the boards to suit normally.

Sod it, looks like its gonna be a PS3, just need to figure out how to play MKV files through the PS3 or 360 :D
Re: Help me spec a uber low power HTPC
Could get something like a Vaio FZ or Dell XPS 1530. That way you get a laptop out of it too. Should run around £700 with blu ray. Has HDMI out etc..
They are quiet/silent :)
EDIT: or PS3 lol
