Thermalright HR-03 Rev. A VGA Cooler

    Thermalright HR-03 Rev. A

Anyone use one of these to cool their graphics card? If so, do you use it with or without a fan? Getting one for my 8600 GT. Want to use it without a fan.

Nope I bought a zalman vf1000 for my 8600gt and it works pretty well.
It's got a remote so you can crank it up for games, or down low for music/movies etc.

Re: Thermalright HR-03 Rev. A VGA Cooler

It's no first hand experience, but it can cool the GT version can cool 8800GT passively, and I've seen the 8600 GT been cooled passively with a much smaller heatsink. So while it's no first hand experience, it seems unlikely that it won't cope with it fanless.

I thought it looks like it can cool without a fan. Just wanted some first hand thoughts. Ta

Re: Thermalright HR-03 Rev. A VGA Cooler

I have one or rather had one on my x1950xt it will run happily passive better if it is wrapped around the card so the airflow from the rear exhaust fan can pull some air over it.

Re: Thermalright HR-03 Rev. A VGA Cooler

mines passive atm, and its at 55 degrees idle

at load can probably go upto 75 or 80.... which is still peanuts
