old AMD hardware question

Back in the day when AMD was king I bought an pre-built Evesham PC. It had an AMD 64 3500+ socket 939 CPU on a MSI K8 Neo2 Platinum mobo.

I am looking to do a small upgrade to this before finally throwing in the towell and doing a self build; am I able to run AMD Athlon 64 X2 processors with this mobo?

P.S. I have bought a new stacker 832 as my new chassis for my new build.

According to the MSI K8 Neo2 Platinum CPU support list you are indeed. Just make sure you're flashed to the right BIOS version.
