    Best Case Fan

    Hi all,

I currenlty have a Thermaltake Soprano case with original case fans. Currently my cpu (with stock cooler) is running at 40c idle and the MB 37c according to PC PROBE.

Now im looking into replacing the case fans. What are the current best 120mm case fans in the market atm?

Im not to bothered about noise - though as long as they are similar to the current setup as this is acceptable level.

    Thanks

I don't honestly think you will see a vast improvement without changing the CPU cooler itself.

    Try these
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

As quiet as you could really want when not demanding silence and push a lot of air

    Re: Best Case Fan

If you want to keep it cheap then I'd get the Arctic cooling freezer 7 Pro for about £15

I personally like the scythe ninja. I've used it on a Q6600 to great effect. Around the same price would also get you a thermalright ultima 90 + the fan I linked before.

The best is the thermalright ultra 120 Extreme with something like the fan I linked to but it's going to set you back a fair bit more.

All avaliable from Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK in the coolers section (freezer is in the intel coolers, the others are in multi cpu )

    Re: Best Case Fan

40'C idle with a quad core is quite cool.. so you're already doing quite well.. but any of the bigger heatsinks is good..

    Scythe Orochi

you could go for that and get about -904'C at full load..

but of course, you'd have to make sure your your mobo is strong enough!!

yeah, not possible to get temperatures that low, yet..
maybe in the future, but i'm sure that heatsink and fan would keep things VERY cool.

yeah, i doubt it'd fit in most cases.. and you'd turn your PC on 1 day to find it won't turn on 'cause it's snapped your motherboard and then snapped through your Graphics card aswell..

    wouldn't be nice!

Um not possible to get that temperature ever! Absolute Zero is -273.15ºC so that is as cold as anything can be!

Back on topic Thermalright Ultima 90 with a 120mm fan is a great cooler and is a good size as in not to big, see photo below the case is a Silverstone TJ-08 pretty much as small as a case gets and still taking full size components.

Oh the northbridge cooler below the Ultima 90 is a HR-05 IFX

    Re: Best Case Fan

No that is it you just can't get any colder. The is no movement of the molecules of what you are measuring, no movement = no energy = no heat.
