    P5B Deluxe upgaradation

    Dear All

    i am thinking to upgrade from Asus P5B-Deluxe to one of the following m/b

    1- Asus P5K-VM
    2- Asus P5K-V
    3- Asus P5E VM DO

    please post your comments/recommendations,

    Those boards you have listed are all using the G33 chipset which really isnt that great compared to your P5B. I wouldnt really class it as an upgrade. Unless you want to go to a micro atx case it really isnt worth bothering. Personally I would stick with your P5B as its still a very good board, but if you really want to upgrade you should be looking at boards with the P35 chipset.

    I would (and have) stuck to the P5B for now, I've got the FSB at 1600Mhz (limited by the memory, it might go higher) and it'll support the new 45nm cpus with the latest BIOS update.

    Looking at your specs if you really have money to burn then get a Q6600 and overclock it. That should give you the most noticeable performance increase. Or get a new monitor, that CRT must be huge.
