    Ageia PhsyX chip

    Hello

I originally had made budget for SLI but your guys put me off and saved me a lump of cash

I was wondering if you guys now think the PhysX chip is worth a buy, like an investment for the future. I hear the new 8800GTS's will have them built in as NVIDIA has bought Ageia. But I would be buying a 9 series for some time!

My currect GPU will be the ASUS 8800GTS and CPU will either be Q6600 or if I can wait, the Q9450.

So any good, worth a look?

I doubt it's worth it right now, there's no significant support for it at the moment and who knows what's going to come out of nVidia and Intel with respect to PhysX and Havok but I doubt it'll have much to do with PhysX chips in their current form.

I have one & in games that utilise it, it's good. However, there aren't many games that do at the mo. UT & G.R.A.W.2 are about it really.
With nVidia buying them out it may be the signal game developers need to start working with it, but for now I'd say save your cash.

    Re: Ageia PhsyX chip

I thought the news was that actually any 8 series card can do it since nvidia just ported it to CUDA.

But no, definitely not worth it.
