    Question FSB:DRAM Ratio Question

    Just upgraded to a Q6600.

Leaving the BIOS settings at AUTO CPU-Z reports a FSB: DRAM ratio of 2:3.

The memory is running at 400MHz. Would it better to reduce the memory speed to get a 1:1 ratio or is ok at 2:3? I dont really want to overclock the cpu or RAM.

    Thanks.

    Re: FSB:DRAM Ratio Question

E6600 runs at 9x 266FSB = 2.4Ghz. NB. Intels quad pumped FSB will be 266.6x4=1066.

From your signature your ram is rated to run at 400FSB (and will do more besides). So here's the maths to find what FSB your ram is running at.

266.6 multiplied by the ratio 3/2 = 400FSB. So your ram is running at it's default speed and is not overclocked. It's probably best to leave it where it is if everything is working fine.
