    Poor C2d chip

I got a E4500 at the weekend hoping to push it to around 3.2 however no such luck, the best i have had out of it stable is only 2.75! Iv played around with various voltages/fsb/multipliers etc. Still running on an intel stock fan atm (not the one that came with it though, a bigger one ) so once i have sorted out my TTBT i will report back but im not expecting much tbh

    InteL Core2 Duo Desktop Processor E4500 - SLA95

It's apparently pretty common for people to be putting up to 1.5v through these man so give it some beans!

[EDIT: Watch the temps with that cooler though.]

    Re: Poor C2d chip

Seems i was being a little light handed witht he voltages. Pushed it up one more notch and its gone up to 3Ghz hitting 60 underload with orthos on this HSF though so i think il leave it as it is until i get my proper heatsink on

    Re: Poor C2d chip

about 1.44, i didnt like the idea of taking it past 1.4 mainly cuz of my flatmate having trouble even before this point although he has pushed his aswell now so....
As has been noted in reviews etc, the grading in the choice of voltages is very poor on this board although ur getting the pro so will be ok

    Re: Poor C2d chip

Does seem like quite high volts, my E4300 is at 3GHz on 1.3625V (set in bios, in reality slightly lower). Surely the E4500 should need less juice to hit 3GHz.

    Re: Poor C2d chip

Flewis thats quite normal, i needed jack all of a voltage push to hit 3.2, but to go further the voltages started to really need raising.. like one notch every 5mhzfsb increase.

Done a bit of reading Biscuit and apparently using a 10x multiplier might offer better results.

    Niiice, haha.

You got the DRAM ratio at 1:1.25 so the memory'll be set to DDR375 (or even 1:1.5 if you fancy overclocking it)?

    Re: Poor C2d chip

My E4500 is at 3ghz with under 1.4v on a 975X motherboard. I got it when the E4500 was just released. However later batches probably will need higher voltages. My E4300 was also from an early batch too and needed less volts for successful overclocking. The later ones needed more volts it seems!

That's very odd, it's well under what your memory's capable of. You got the voltage set to whatever it's rated at?

it runs at 750 fine, an OC to 900 which is the next step? only with the timings slackened to 5 5 5 would it handle that i reckon
