I know there are loads about but I really don't like the way they look, and the shoulder bags are too poncy for me. What ime looking for is somthing sporty that will take a 17" lappy.
Thanks

Thanks, I am really looking for your average nike bag that can fit a 17" laptop, not a shoulder one.
Pakuma bags are fantastic, really roomy and fantastically durable. They have a great padded section for the laptop, lots of spaces for your other stuff and don't look like a 'nick me please' laptop bag. I've used mine for all sorts and my laptop has survived some pretty serious abuse inside it. Well worth a look!

I'll second Pakuma, don't knw if they do one big enough though.
Crumplers are awsome too, although they are expensive. Appear to be very well made, verging on the indestructable.
I find shoulder bags a little lame aswell, also walking around salford with one is just asking to be mugged by a bunch of scallys. My solution was to buy one of the laptop sleeves and use a regualr bag with it. 17" laptops are very big though and finding something subtle and nice looking will be quite limited
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
I ordered this for my new 17ich laptop. Im told its fits it fine.

According to Pakuma's site, the Akara K1 takes up to 17" , so yes, you should be fine.
Yep you seem to have the same idia as me, I bought this lappy (which i got today) with a sleeve, but knew it wouldant fit in my current bag. Ive been looking around and timberland seem to do some nice bags which are 18.1 inches long... so should fit this laptop (xps m170).
suppose mines only a 15"er (lets have no innuendo ) so it fit fine in my current bag
