    My customized PC 1.5

I posted a thread earlier and now I've updated the specs after the feedback I got. The only possible issue (as I see it if you think otherwise plz post) is the ram some guys have suggested that It'll not be stable at the speed I'll want to run it with when I've OCed my cpu. Now if I get a more expensive memory, corsair, ocz etc. I can only afford one 512 module not two as I can if I buy the TwinMos your thoughts?

    CPU: AMD BARTON 2500+ O/C
    MEMORY: TwinMOS PC3200 DDR-DIMM 2x 512
VIDEO CARD: Sapphire Radeon 9800 Atlantis PRO 128MB
    POWER SUPPLY: Antec TrueBlue 480w
    MOTHERBOARD: Abit NF7-S nForce2 ver 2
HDD : Old one but it will hopefully not affect overall performance that much.
CPU cooling: Thermaltake Volcano extreme 12 HSF
This rig seem OK to you?

    again any comment is appreciated...
    thanks

pc3200 will be guaranteed to be stable at 200mhz, this will get you to 3200 speeds, if you want more, then it's luck

Nice! I don't really get it how people can get so mixed results with TwinMos...

    Iatifds9 is talking ddr...as in 166mhz/333 ddr
while you are talking 200mhz/400 ddr
he certainly is not running his ram at 666mhz.
and since he doesn't mention which speed the ram is rated to, it's a fairly pointless post.
Is it 3200 (400) ram that hes had to drop to 333 to get tight timings? Is it 266 ddr thats overclocked? Is he simply saying that twinmos runs with tighter timings than default. That my friends is a question for the polititians. or him.

Twinmos is great, get it or twinmos with winbond chips if the price is within £10.
This will allow you to set fsb - 200mhz, ram - 200mhz and clock ur cpu to 2.2ghz.If you are planning to overclock more then you will have to overclock the ram and its pot luck how far you'll get. Not as far as with very expensive ram, but pretty decent id wager. The 2500 prob wont go very far past 2.2ghz anyway . Getting to 210 fsb will get you a cpu speed of 2.31ghz. This is prob the most you will get as a casual overclock.

does this help? Thats a fairly perfect spec you've settled on...just hope it's going in a nice case

Ram is rated at 400ddr, decided to keep it at 333 for the tighter timings, at 400ddr timings are 7-3-3-2.5, just another pointless post by me.

Crucial have always worked for me, when it comes to RAM. 512mb DDR400, Can run at 200mhz FSB, 11\2\2\2.5 all day long. Stock voltage.

    Free delivery, free lifetime guarentee.

Best RMA people in the business.

I'll have a bit of that.

Madness to use anyone else for named-but-cheap RAM, in my opinion.
