You can control the voltage from the system bios which will regulate the fan speed, so i guess it may be a bios setting that's causing the fan speed to fluctuate. I have ACF7 Pro also, and afaik mine stays constant @ 2500? I can tell you that 300 is the lower limit for the ACF7.
As long as your temps are OK it doesn't matter what RPM its running at.
Main PC : Abit IP35-Pro | Q6600 G0 @ 3GHz | 4x1GB Crucial Ballistix 8500 | MSI N460 GTX HAWX | 1 x Crucial M4 128GB SSD | Antec 182 | Corsair HX620 | Dell 2407WFP-HC | Windows 10 x64
Server : HP MicroServer N40L | 16 GB RAM | 4 X 1 GB Samsung Spinpoint F1 | ESXi 6.0 NAS : Synology DS-408 - 4 x 3GB WD RED HTPC : Acer Revo RL70 | LibreElec
Its just that I would much rather it was below 1000 RPM, purely due to the amount of noise higher speeds cause.
1.5k rpm keeps it nearly silent. Ive found the difference from 1k-1.8k not noticeable over my case fans(they are only running @ 1k).
Just thought id put my advice there
I appreciate your advice, however I still don't know how to control the fan speed.
i never used any motherboards other then asus so i can only guess that there should be some options in the bios about setting the speed of the fan.
Yes there should be an option in the BIOS to set up the fan control.
It works by giveing it a temp to aim for then it should automaticly adjust the speed decreaseing the speed if under temp, increaseing if over temp.
Isn;t there a freeware app that allows this? FanSpeed or something lol.
