I was planning on finaly ditching my agp system and build a new rig sporting a quad core in it btu now due to my current situation im forced to wait till nelan or whatever you call it arrives.

my plan now is to spend around £200 buying a new case, cpu fan and the best agp card out atm to futher prolong the life of my ageing agp system.

my pc has a p4 3.2 northwood, 7800 gainward bliss and 2gb ddr ram. i wanted to build a new rig in a month or two as i wanted to play the latest games in full but now it looks like i have to wait and stick with my 360 and toss in a 3850 agp card?

will this card provide a huge difference compared to my 7800 card? ic annot seem to find any sites that compare it

Id save the pennies if i were you or scour the classified pages (or even ebay)

I agree. You should save up. And I doubt that you'll really get much value from upgrading a 7800 until the 8800GT/9600GTS/3870 level. It was an excellent card.

the AGP cards are similar enough in performance the PICE cards to use PCIE benchmarks.

Yea and plus my cpu would probably be a bootleneck as well so maybe i will just buy a new case (p182) and wait for nelan to come out because by teh soudns of it. its gunna blow away conroe completely. there is no point me spending nearly 1k making a pc that will be blown away in less then a year or a years time.

if i get the nelan in its first release, that pc wont be blown away for a very long time

save save save! but if you want a AGP I THINK one of the best is X1950XT.. or I believe the HD3560 is coming to an AGP near you!

but i wouldnt buy any of them, Id save my £200 for a core2duo / quad

anyways what do you guys think about this cooler for my old p4 northwood? Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

is this any good and is it compatible with my socket?

also which case would you guys recoment. the £80 cm stacker or the p180 both at similar price

The Gainward Bliss 7800GS+ was every bit as good, if not better than the X1950XT.

Spending £200 on an AGP system now though is just a waste of cash.

I built a Dual Core Rig (without monitor) for someone 3 weeks ago and all in, with good parts and no cack, it cost me under £300 to build with an ATI3850.

Yes, that cooler will fit a 478 socket and its not bad, why do you want it btw?

because my cpu temps are realy bad. i get 50-55c on idle and goes up to 65-70c on load using the stock cooler thats covered in dust.

i also want to buy a new case for better air flow and help reduce the dust going inside my pc because at the moment i am using a chieftec matrix full tower case and teh air flow and cable management is shockingly bad plus im using 80mm fans and its loud as hell
