    Quad Q6600 G0 or QX6700

Thanks to the magic of the HeXus.net forums i have found myself in a slight bit of confusion and need you guys to help me out!

My upcoming build is a quad core, but what quad core should i go with?

Originally thinking about the Q6600 G0 mainly because it overclocks very nicely.
But just this week being offered the QX6700 at a low price has made me think more....damn me thinking

does the QX6700 out perform the Q6600? and would i beable to overclock it quite well? Or well put overclock the **** out of it

If the QX6700 is a G0 stepping then go for it but it's more likely to be a B3, in which case get a new Q6600.

G0 chips run quite a bit cooler due to them requiring a lower wattage.

Oh my money would be with the Q6600 by the way

    Did they even release a G0 QX6700?

    Re: Quad Q6600 G0 or QX6700

According the the Intel website the QX6700 was only a B3 and not a G0 so in theory it wont over clock as much.

I have seen people get QX6800's that dont over clock as much as a G0 6600.

If the Q6600 is significanly more than the QX you have been offered then that would be the only reason I would go with the QX

    Re: Quad Q6600 G0 or QX6700

A G0 q6600 mated with a decent motherboard (p35 based) and your in ocing heaven. i got 3.4 easy on my ip35-pro and with a bit of tweaking got a nice stable 3.6. they are the best value chips about atm imho.
