Need someone to build my PC..

Guys, this might seem odd, but I don't have much experience with building pC's and as I'm about to embark on my final year exams, I don't really have the time to be challenging myself with computer builds. I have ALL the parts but just need someone to put it all together, for a reasonable fee.

    MSI NEO2-FR
    Q6600 95W G0 Stepping CPU
320GB Seagate Barracude 16MB SATAII HDD
    Patriot C4 Extreme perofrmance 800MHz DDR" 2x 1GB RAM
    MSI nVdiai 8800GT 512MB GFX
    Samsung DVD/RW
    Corsair HX 550W PSU
Arcting Cooling PRO 7 CPU Cooler
    Zalman fan 120mm x2
    Antec NK ATX case

Pretty straightforward build and possibly need the RAM overclocked just a teeney weeney bit.

I live in London, SW1, so let me know of any takers!!

Re: Need someone to build my PC..

i seriously recommend just looking on google and for some decent guides on how to build the pc. It is fairly simple, only hard thing is the usb 2.0 wiring for the front of the case(i left mine cos i was lazy xD) and then the power button etc but its all in the manual. Just make sure you discharge yourself, have the power cord in the psu and keep it switched off at the socket, touch the metal of the case(dont touch the painted as it wont discharge u) and do that when ever you move, and regulary and you should have no problems. Just dont drop anything .

Re: Need someone to build my PC..

Right, but knowing my luck, I can just see something going wrong for me. Please, overclocking the RAM scares me. All those wires in the case?? Have no idea what they do. I haven't looked at any manuals yet.. I just don't want to start a job I can't/won't finish..

I mean, I would LOVE to embark on this at any other time, but right now its critical that I get a fast system up and running as soon as possible, with no delays and/or build problems.

Re: Need someone to build my PC..

The thing about building a pc is most of the components only fit in one slot anyway, you can't really go far wrong, read a few articles on these forums, read the manuals that come with the hardware if your unsure and take your time. Its really not difficult at all, hence why so many people are building there own instead of buying pre-builts.

Re: Need someone to build my PC..

Yeah, but I've read on so many forums of people and their horror stories... Comp. not booting. Fans not turning. Etc.

What about RAM overclocking - is that hard?

Where exactly are these guides you speak of?

Thanks guys, for the confidence... I might just to it..

Re: Need someone to build my PC..

    A few tips:

If the case doesn't have motherboard risers built in, make sure you use them

you have the easist cooler in the world to fit as long as you make sure the push pins are in correctly. My test is to pick the motherboard up by the cooler once you think it's attached (fitting with the motherboard out, dont pick it up by it when it's screwed into the case ). It has thermal compount pre-applied so no worries there. Take the fan off to make fitting it easier (it just unclips).

Everything else is very straight forward. As pete says, the cables only go in one way and its very self explanatory.

Read the motherboard manual to make sure which cables go where for the power button and led's etc..

Antecs case manuals a e usually very thorough so it will guide you through fiitting hard drives etc.. if you need help.

Be a bit careful with the CPU make sure it's slotted in properly but it does pretty much just drop in.

And take your time! I just stick a movie on and take it nice and easy.. it's fun really

Cheers, but I didn't get these points.

Re: Need someone to build my PC..

Ok well when you attact the motherboard to the case it needs risers or standoffs in between. You will see them, they are just little brass things with a screw thread one end and a screw hole the other.

The cooler. I guess that will make sense when it comes to fit it.

Intel's design is 4 push pins to attact the CPU cooler to the motherboard. You have to make sure they are pushed down correctly else it will fall off and you don't want that to happen obviously. Essentially I just mean it's as plug and play as a cooler can be.

Re: Need someone to build my PC..

Building a PC is the easy bit, overclocking it is the hard part.

Go to goolge video and there's load of videos that show just how straightforward assembly is.

Re: Need someone to build my PC..

Hey, even I (a bloody biological scientist) built my own PC. Embarrassingly, the CPU was running on a low FSB for four years now, haha.

If my new mouse strain wasn't coming this week, I'd help you. But that way I'm swamped with work... always wondered how SW1 is for living - is that south kenn?
