    Faster ram everyday

I mean Desktop ram is scaling really fast, I'm using DDR2 667 most people use DDR2 800. DDR3 Seems to be hitting over 2ghz already. An article on Hexus has shown corsair playing around with DDR3 2133 speeds i mean come on.

What are people doing with this system bandwidth?

I thought with DDR2 at least we were seeing the RAM as the bottleneck when overclocking the new penryns, but I agree in general the speeds we are now getting to is probably a year or so ahead of the CPU

    Feeding more cores I guess.

My bandwidth per core hasn't changed since my first Athlon 64.

More cores = more bandwith required. Simple as that.

DDR3 memory is so far ahead of the CPUs now that its gonna take 2yrs to catch up.

Maybe even Tetris... if you're lucky...
Or Spider Solitaire.. which I can never understand.

Ever try rendering large sequences using Blender (graphical design/volumetrics)? I was surprised at the simple change from DDR2 800MHz to 1067MHz. I was only too happy when my Ballistix hit 1200. I've always been a proponent of faster Ram being more practical (real-world effective) than merely overclocking a processor alone.

When I can afford it, I'll welcome DDR3 with open arms.
