It'll be £100 easy though which is a shame. The cut down versions are better to be honest.

Couldn't you get say a P45 board and the ATI 3450HD Graphics for less than this, for better output?
Only thing I presume to be of advantage, is the silence as there would not be the need for an extra graphics card?

I apologise for any ignorance on my part beforehand on this area.

I just hope it clocks well. 500fsb+ would be good.

MicroATX? Or their custom mobos which are no use to man nor beast unless used in their overpriced and unreliable cases?

So basically a pointless post since I was asking about mATX and not custom form factors?

I was looking at it from a cost perspective once these boards (P45/G45) are released, these damn boards can get overflated on price.

However, as I posted in the SFF forum I assumed we were talking about mATX and the like.

I never claimed to know everything or anything, I'm still learning, I've only ever built beasts and am now looking down the SFF route for HTPC and value for money (cheap, call it whatever you want) PCs.

    Again...

Re: Asus P5Q-EM HDMI ... with G45 chipset

To be honest I wasn't answering your question at all.. Didn't even see it

I was simply adding that shuttle had shrunk an X38/48 so, although their aren't any, I'm sure some sort of P35/P45 could be shrunk onto uATX format.

That said, with G33 ,G35, and now G45 being such good chipsets, why bother.. They aren't great overclockers but they aren't designed to be and do provide ample overclocking for most peoples need's.

Would I be right in thinking that you could pull out 2.5Ghz on the C2D E2160 on one of these boards?
That would definitely be a nice overclock.

Re: Asus P5Q-EM HDMI ... with G45 chipset

You should be able to get the 2.6GHz without even overclocking the motherboard passed it's native FSB of 1333MHz

So you should be able to get to 3.0GHz quite easily. This chips seem to find their limit between 2.8 and 3.2GHz in most cases anyway

EDIT sorry that applies to the E2140 not the E2160. The E2160 would get to 3.0GHz without overclocking the motherboard

Re: Asus P5Q-EM HDMI ... with G45 chipset

On the G33 not being great overclockers I would tend to disagree the Gigabyte G33m-DS2R has been seen at 600MHz FSB and mine is happily plodding along at 429Mhz as I type this all at stock volts (no idea what my boards limit is, this is as high as I have taken it... so far )

Will be taking it a bit further tomorrow maybe, currently 3GHz may see if 3.2Ghz is achievable, will have to wait and see!
