    2900XT being recognised as a X1600??

I have been having problems getting CCC to force anti alias as well as other options, so i decided to reinstall my drivers. I used Driver Cleaner Pro and followed the instructions. Not i've reinstalled and CCC tells me that the card that's installed is a X1600 (My OLD card). I can't find an X1600 in the Device manager (only the 2900XT). What the hell?

I am on Vista with another hard drive on XP.

The fault must therefore lie with CCC. Somewhere there must a be a .cfg or .ini file that needs changing.

I presume that Device Manager sees the 2900XT. If so then you have properly "swapped" the old drivers. The problem, I reiterate, is with CCC. If you uninstalled and re-installed CCC it would undoubtedly fix the problem. However you could well lose all our settings & saves (I don't know CCC). This isn't a hardware problem.

Oh ok. i'll give that a go. thanks.

Another problem i am having is that no matter what i do in CCC, i can't force AA in games. If i apply it in the control panel, if i create profiles and launch tasks, nothing. I'm talking specifically about Crysis and Frontlines: Fuels of War.

You'd be best to ask those questions on the Gaming forum I would think, but forcing AA with a 2900XT in Crysis? Maybe the game is protecting you from low frame rates?

It happens in other games too. It's besides the point, i dont want to use the native AA, i would like more options (such as where the AA samples are taken from)

I'll ask in the gaming forum.
