7600GS..Underperforming I think.. Check these settings please?

I bought one of these cards a while back, and have now realised they are either very crap, or my system is making it underperform. It seems worse than my last card, which I think was a ti4600. Getting a bit of lag while playing pro evo 2008 on med detail, also a bit of lag in live for speed with high details.. runs at about 80fps on lfs.

These settings seem ok? Currently downloading 3dmark06, will post up the results in a bit.

Cant tell much from this, have you installed the latest drivers? The 7600GS is not a very good card in it self, it uses only DDRII memory and has a 400Mhz core clock, I wouldnt expect it to perform very good.

yes, not much can be learnt from that screenshot.

check drivers, ok standard advice but need to rule out the obsious first.

what resolution are you playing at? what options in game?

one thing to keep in mind it's a dx9 card which the geforce4 was not (dx7 if I remember correctly)
so it's probably useing graphical effects that your old one couldn't do, you'd need to force any game to use shader1.1 to really compair them.

Post the 3d Mark 06 scores and someone might be able to help then.
