    80mm to 120mm Fan Adaptor

    Hey,

I've got an Antec NSK4400 case which is great apart from the fact that you can only put an 80mm fan in the front.

I've currently got a Sharkoon 2000 80mm fan in the front and a 120mm TriCool in the back, but the 80mm fan is a bit loud for my liking.
I know I could just lower the speed but I want to keep the temps/airflow in the case.

Just wanted to know if it would be of any use putting a 120mm fan in the front using an adapter like this one: Maplin > 80 to 120mm UV Reactive Plastic Fan Adapter

Not too sure about it myself as the hole is still gonna be 80mm.

The other option is to cut a bigger hole

Doesn't matter if the hole is 80mm - the air molecules still fit

I've done this on my main rig at home - the top and rear fans are 120mm sitting on 120->80mm adapters. Works a treat in making it quiet (and a lot cooler due to better airflow). I mounter mine externally as I did have much space inside the case.

Just had a quick look and I'm not sure if the adaptor wil fit

They seem pretty cheap so I might just pick one up and see if I can get it to work, where did you get yours from?

Oh brilliant. Would you post some pictures? I've been pondering about a purchase.

Yeah, I'll try. Might be a few days though. Don't have my camera with me.

Re: 80mm to 120mm Fan Adaptor

space may be a problem but they do work
i have one on an old p4 cooler ( replaced 80mm stock fan with 120MM )
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
