I expect the build quality is good, and for a Lian Li it's not badly priced. OTOH it's huge, and has 4 x 120mm fans, which, if previous experience is anything to go by, won't be anything near silent, so that's probably an additional cost. It also looks curiously old-fashioned. Who's it aimed at?
I'd had a look through Lian Li's range a few days ago for a case for a potential future project and thought the PC-A70/A71 looked like the best options...but this new one does away with the one area I was unsure about - the hard drive racks...
Cheers for the link! I'm going to have to keep an eye out for this one
i heard that the prices for these are not too bad. i think it will cool better due to the front being all mesh
I think im gonna have to get one of these!
I hate Thermaltake, but Lian Li is the one with fanboys, as you amply demonstrate my dear boy.
No fanboyism here. Silverstone or Lian-Li, but my last 2 cases have been Lian-Li's if that says anything. Bought a few Silverstone cases for others.
I see you have the PC75. Doesn't that have numerous 80mm fans? And when I say old-fashioned, I don't mean it doesn't have gimmicks (which look even more dated), but that the basic design of these hasn't changed - ever. There is a rule that says if a design hasn't changed for years either it is perfect, or it's past due a change. I don't buy perfect.
Nah, the PC75 is my work case now. I've got a A70B now. Just haven't updated my specs for a while.
the pcA70 is a amazing case but i think i will wait and get this case instead.
Personally I feel the A70 is all about built-in internal flexibility and ease of use, while the A77 is just that little bit more spacious.
The A70 doesn't end up with masses of space to work with when you've kitted one out, but it is easier to work with when it is built. That A77 doesn't look like it's got removable hard drive bays? Does have some lovely touches the A70 doesn't, such as the ports and near limitless flexibility of drive set ups.
Prefer the look of the A70, but I think if this was out when I ordered a month or so back, I'd have gone for this A77 instead.
For the record, I've been working with an Antec P182 recently (building a computer for a colleague) and while it's a great case in its own right, and for the money, it's not a patch on the A70 in any respect other than the sound-dampening on the panels (and the A70 is still quieter out of the box anyway).
Yea i prefer to work on full tower cases for ease of working with athe space they have. you could toss in loads of hdd's and cards bigger then a 8800 ultra without having any hiccups whatsoever like the p182. i heard that you have to remove one of the drive cages to fit a ultra in that for example
i dont know but there are other new lian li cases! check this out for example!
