your best off with xp really - but if you must have 98 aswell then dual boot, and dont go anywhere near the pile of crap that is windows ME - always gives problems and is the worst operating system.

Ive had Win Me for many years now, mine works fine and I have very little problems with it, a well setup OS is a reliable one, dont just blame the OS if all your drivers are crap etc...

Now then I have a dual boot WinME and WinXP system, I use WinME for 98% of my games, its just a basic install with the lastest drivers, IE6 DX9.1b etc works fine with all my games I play (BF + DC online, C&C etc).

WinXP I use for serious stuff like surfing (Hexus ), burning, general networking, music etc.

I would like the be WinXP only but I still dont trust it for games 100%, even though support for WinME is nearing an end (or if it has ended already), I know that virtually all my games are fine on it.

The choice is yours the Win98se vs WinME issue though, I find ME much nicer, quicker booting, easier networking support (vital for online games).

Just my 50p worth for the thread anyway
