    Logitech G9

Anyone got the G9 and how do you like it?

How does it compare to the G5?

    Re: Logitech G9

    Me !
I definitely like it though I can't compared it to the G5 as I never had one. My previous mouse was a Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 which was great too.
The G9 is much more sensitive, the multiple profiles are useful too (shame most games don't recognise the side click buttons on the wheel, they'd be most handy in COD4!)
Gripes? - Well the middle click on the wheel is *much* heavier than my old mouse and I'm having a minor issue with the software but other than that it's all good.

To get it to recognise your buttons, on the software that came with the mouse set your scroll and side buttons to keyboard keys such as F9 or F10 and then you can set F9 or F10 in the game to be what you want it to be.

    Re: Logitech G9

yeh mines spot on, started out with the G7, that broke, then got palmed off with the crappy mx rev as they stopped making the G7. i had a ma at support and they said i could take my choice up to £60 on there website so i tried out the G7 and havn't looked back since.

only gripe is the braided cable, its not smooth and does catch the edge of the desk, due to this i have to wedge the cable so it cant catch anything.

i do miss my G7 and this is as close as i have found to a decent replacement.

also a shame they quote it as having the mx rev mouse wheel, well its not as the mx could auto shift to free spin. if you want the g7 to move to free spin you have to turn the mouse over and press a button

i would still reccomend one though.

    Is it comfortable?

    It does look rather square!

    Re: Logitech G9

my palm rests where it needs to on a nice rounded part, my fingers rest right where they should on the buttons and my thumb rests on the (left hand pic) base just nice.

i do have large hands though and have always needed large mice, this still fits the bill even though its not all that big, its like someones cut off the front of the mouse but even with my fingers hanging over the end its still very comfy to use

Cool, thanks! I knew I needed to mess around with the software a bit more
