Is this rechargeable? Some sites say you can plug it in via USB cord to charge whilst others say it isn't...
I'm tempted by one or the G5 - as my G9 just isn't comfortable.

The key difference between the MX1100 in this package (wave desktop) versus the standalone mouse is that the packaged mouse is rechargeable. Though the standalone version boasts a long battery life, users who opt for the Wave Desktop can rest assured that they won't ever have to swap their batteries for new ones.
In front of the mouse is a small port that you connect the charging cable to. The other end of this charging cable is a USB plug, which you can either plug into an included AC adaptor that goes into the wall, or directly into your computer. Both will charge the mice, so there's no downtime when the battery goes out. Fitting the cable into the mouse took some effort the first time, but we were able to finally shove the thing in there after a few tries.
That's a bummer that is!
But on the bright side if it just uses AA batteries you can just get a cheap charger and always have a set ready
Thats irritating, one of the main reasons I've got an MX1000 (or 2) is that it has a decent lifespan on rechargeable batteries
