RAM timings... Much sense to change ??

Hello,

I have a stable rig at 3.1Ghz with my Q6600, FSB is apx 340 (I think, not at my PC atm), my temps at idle is about 33 and in prime they go to 49/50 max using the Tuniq tower on medium fan speed, Vcor is1.30.

My RAM timings as advertised on the OCz site for Reapers are 4-4-4-12, at the moment they sit at 5-5-5-18 with volts at 2.1, the ratio I am using is at default on my mobo which is a IP35 Pro.

I was wondering if I could change the timings to 4-4-4-12, would I see that much of a boost, would I notice the latency gaming?

It's unlikely you'll notice any real difference except in benchmark scores and even then it'll be small.

I have my ram running at 4-4-4-12 and not noticed any diference at all from 5-5-5-15.

As the two other posters said, no difference at all, only a small one in synthetic benchmarks.

It can also increase your E-Girth tremendously.

Don't underestimate the importance of e-girth.
