I'd get a Dell. User's rating wasn't very impressive on that.

    Re: Cheap Laptop

A cheap laptop is only going to disappoint.

Order a Vostro if cash is the main concern, otherwise the Inspiron is still a good choice.

Toshiba and Compaqs are nice, but very difficult to order to the exact spec you want.

    Re: Cheap Laptop

Toshiba's below £400 will dissapoint you in terms of quality.

So tacky and horrible to use. The vostro is a fantastic laptop

    £530 now gets you,

    2.4GHz Penryn Core 2 Duo,
    3GB or RAM
    250GB HDD
    8600GT
    True life screen.

Add £100 and you get 3 years onsite warranty

I know thats not in budget or anything but I already have two decent laptops and I still want that thing

Nah, loads have ordered them for home. Works fine and you don't need to supply any business details. It's all legit. You just have to remember all prices are minus-VAT until you get the checkout.

Have to say configuring a Vostro or choice would probably be the best bet for that sort of money. Just be warned they're not the best portable laptops - they're heavy and thick considering what's inside them. Very well built though.

    Re: Cheap Laptop

Honestly you can buy them no problem. My mate has one and was quite honest over the phone that he was a home user.

Anything they sell on their site is available to buy, it's just directed at different people
