    Bios update not worked

I attempted to update the bios on my Gigabyte GA-965G-DS3 motherboard. I used the qflash utility but when I restarted the computer nothing happens. Fans & hard drive start up but there is nothing on the screen.

Is there anything I can do to recover the situation?

Clear CMOS thoroughly. Change the jumper. Unplug the PSU. Take the CMOS battery out and leave for an hour, or longer.

If this doesn't work you need to bootup to DOS and try installing again (maybe revert to an earlier BIOS if that doesn't take). You can boot to DOS from a CD or a flash drive, but a floppy is easiest.

That depends on how bad the flash has gone. In fact, its pretty much impossible to boot to DOS if the BIOS is corrupt like he's implying, it simply won't get far enough in the POST cycle to allow it.

A lot of BIOS's are programmed to look at the floppy drive for a *.bin file / autoexec.bat to reflash them self in case of a screw up which is the angle he should be looking at

True. Some also require a key press to access the floppy.

This is where the mainboard manual might come in handy. Let us hope that the nihilistic trend in print media hasn't abolished them yet ;-)
