I did have bits of tights on my fans on the front but seeing as my side panel has been off the PC for the last 6 months I feel this is like tackling the bush-fires in America after a session on diaretic tablets.

I just blow all the dust away every week with compressed air, works perfect if you do it regularly, if you let it be for a month or so, alot of dust accumulates, then you have to wipe the components carefully, so just keep the compressed air coming regularly!

Keep the PC away from the floor, i.e. put it on your desk.

the spider tried to crawl out the 400mm fan on the front of the machine that's bringing in all that dust

One of the reasons why it got dusty so bad is because this machine relies on one fan to cool the entire system (bar the PSU fan).

We had the static discussion last time this came up. Some reckoned that any air "solution" was risky due to the fact that if you got fans spinning the wrong way you could create a reverse current.

I have one of those metal grille/mesh-like things on the front and rear of my Lian li, the front one does a pretty good job, catches lots of dust. Still get lots in the case, but it must be helping.

When I took over my current PC from my brother it was left on carpet floor for four years without cleaning. There was so much dust in the case that it wouldn't even POST.

compressed air, and get some fan filters. Technically, your not supposed to use vaccum cleaners, as they generate a small amount of static energy, which can damage vital components (I learnt that in uni ) but many ppl use them without the bother...i just wouldnt risk it myself oh and the expensive way would be to install air conditioning in your house

not if you vacuum from the outside! filters most dust out and easy to access with a vacuum without having to go near the components.
