Price Check: Dell 12" Laptop Inspiron 2100 80GB Wireless

Hi, I have quite an old laptop lying here not doing anything.

It is an Inspiron 2100 which is also called a Latitude 400 (L400)

Here are the Specs

PIII - 700mhz
256mb or 512mb of RAM (Not Sure)
5200RPM 80GB HD
PCMCIA Linksys 54G Wireless
12" Screen

I think that is around it.

It is running Windows XP fine, I just use it to read email and browse.

It is nice and light weight too which is the main thing.

Comes with the ful Windows Millennium Edition License too.

And the battery is a joke, maybe 1 minute if you are a lucky, I think new ones are £20 or so.

How much do you think its worth?

I think the problem with laptops like these now are things like the asus Eee which can do it all for £200 brand new and the new versions onlu £300 with bigger HDD and screen.

Given the lack of battery and that they will be £35 at least unless you find a company willing to do a swap for your old one so they can refurb it, I don't think you could ask more than £80 -£100. Even then I'd be suprised if you sell it becasuse of that asus.

i would not expect to get more than 100quid for it. if that. it's probably out performed by the eee in all respects

Sorry guys, but I think £100 is really pushing it with no working battery + only a Windows ME licence
