I don't actually have either, but I do have an IP-35 Pro, and i love it. My vote goes to the Dark Raider. I overclocked my Core 2 Duo E6750 by 800MHz easily (though going higher proved futile so far, but I think its a different issue than the mobo...likely the RAM being clocked too high or something. lol

put it this way, the P35-DS3L's direct competitor is the IP35-E.
The IP35 has ICH9R instead of ICH9 & adds firewire.
It's also a full size PCB (the DS3L is cut down in width).

I`d say the Abit. As Buff says, the equivalent of the Gigabyte is the IP35-E. The Darkraider is much better specified & I think it has solid caps. (please correct me if I`m wrong) - just checked it does have solid caps. So no contest really.

I would still take the IP35.
Depends if you value the 2 extra SATA ports via JMicron on the Gigabyte over the firewire & full size PCB on the abit though.

Solid caps around the processor area only.

Pro has solid caps for full mobo.

OP, Did you get the Dark Raider then ?
