How much do you reckon my PC would cost?

    I meant worth btw...
    Hi all,
I'm not advertising but need opinions (sorry if still posted in the wrong place).
Basically I'm thinking of selling my PC which I built one and a half years ago, because I now need a laptop instead. I built this thing for...around or over 500quid. How much do think it still worth?

What I have at the moment:
    CPU Intel Core 2 E6300 1.86GHz
    Motherboard: ASUS P5B
Ram 1GB DDR1 (going to upgrade to 2G before selling)
Hard drive 160GB SATA(but I'll buy a new 320GB SATA for it and keep the current one)
GPU nVidia GeForce 7600GS 256MB with DVi output
    No sound card
DVD RW drive (4x I think)
    Internal card reader 8in1

Does 300-400 sound like a joke with this case? I checked HP and Dell's PC with 400 quid and mine is better (apart from the CPU which they got 2GHz). I hope my case have bit more selling point because just above the yellow button (which is a ferrari Badge without the horse icon) is slide-lid that slides down for audio in/out, 2 USBs and the internal card reader. it includes 350W power supply from the case maker itself called GTR.
    Still need your opinion, thanks.

Once you got a Mac, you won't go back (apart from playing games, of course).

I would say £250. I would suggest that you don't put the hard drive or ram in though, as you will spend more than you will get back

Yes don't buy anything new to put in it before selling, as you'll lose money instantly. If you are going to upgrade the RAM why not change it to DDR2? It's probably just as cheapas DDR1 is.

but i searched ebay people normally sell them by parts and if I do that I get much less! something like £146.
The other trouble is i have to keep the current hardrive as an external because I don't want to spent too much fuss ripping data off.
Still, what if I did upgrade it to 2GB Ram on DDR2? would that push it up a bit? just wondering...

Re: How much do you reckon my PC would cost?

Why upgrade a PC you are selling?
The value wont increase enough to cover the cost.

Even if you give away the current harddrive with the unit, i still doubt very much you would break £200.

(That case is properly wrong aswell )

I would say, looking at the parts a little more, its £180 absolute maximum.

Re: How much do you reckon my PC would cost?

ASUS P5B takes DDR2, so I suspect that your RAM is DDR2 and not DDR(1). Problem I see with selling the unit is that you have to find someone who likes that case. And the sort of people who would like that case are probably mostly game players, who would find your rig seriously under-powered.

OK I checked the nearest I could get to your system on Dell. It costs £368.99 but it has the superior E2160, a Radeon HD2600XT (certainly more attractive than a 7600GS), Operating System & MS Works, KB & Mouse, and 1 year collect&return warranty. I reckon the better parts, software, warranty and extras are worth well over £100. And then you have to adjust for the fact that yours is not new.

Biscuit is right. It has to be the wrong side of £200. I might even value it less than him, because if I buy this I still have to get a full set of peripherals and an OS.
