    No i dont think so, depends what you will be using the machine for. If you are doing a lot of video, music or image work then the extra cache can come in handy. The yorkfields also have SSE4, im not completely sure what this does but i think that that also helps for that kind of task. If its mainly gaming that you will be doing then the differences will be very minimal, especially if you overclock past 3GHz

    Well THe pc will be used for gaming although I do want to start messing about with some video editing...

    hmm. looking at it the q9450 is about 100 pound more... I might for now get the q6600 and then see how things are in 6 months
