    How hot is too hot?

    I have my Athlon XP 2600 at 2.22GHz (16.5 x 134) and its at 43 degrees under full load. Does this mean i can go slightly higher?
    AMD Athlon XP 2000+ @ 2.4GHz
    Shuttle AN35N Ultra
    1.5GB DDR SD-RAM
    ATI Radeon 9200 128MB
    20GB Seagate Barracuda
    52X CD-ROM

    Thats a fine temp at full load, sure push it.
    Maybe get yourself a good second hand HSF... Ive had two Aero 7's fora grand total of £20 inc.

    Seriously though, most people like to keep a load temp of under 50, so that is what you should aim for.

    Even if i did overheat for whatever reason, i set my BIOS to shut down at 60 degrees.

    btw knock the multiplier down and up the fsb if you can - 164 is way low!

    thats if your ram is up to it)

    He says his FSB is 134, not 164, and his RAM is SD-RAM so I would presume it's PC133? I dunno how well that would overclock! Who is it made by Benjamin?
