If the Q6600 FSB is 1066/4? Is the E8500 1333/2? or is it /4?
Hi all,
Right if the Q6600 is described as QDR making its FSB 266
DDR 2 is Double Data Rate making it 400 for 800 stuff
Then is E8500 QDR or DDR?
Because Im thinking if it is double then you have alot more bandwidth and need much faster memory :D

hope that helps.. looks like it's x4 on that aswell..

All Core 2 CPUs have quad pumped FSBs, e.g.:
200 --> 800 (e.g. E2160)
266 --> 1066 (e.g. E6600)
333 --> 1333 (e.g. E8500)
Also worth knowing; DDR RAM (regardless if it's DDR or DDR2) runs at double the bus speed, e.g.:
200 --> 400 (PC3200)
266 --> 533 (PC4200)
333 --> 667 (PC5300)

i think he just got a bit confused with the Quad core being quad pumped.. so the dual core might have been dual pumped..
it could make sense.
