Toshiba 42X3030D audio ( pc to tv )
basically im just about to order a toshiba 42x3030d after alot of research.
i understand how to get a nice 1920x1080 pic from pc to tv.. (dvi to dvi, then hdmi to dvi converter thingy on tv)
but i dont know how the audio will work.
i currently have logitech x-530 speakers and dont quite understand how to have these hooked up to my tv.
could i use a 3.5mm headphone jack to a red and white rca cable (which i already have) and use that as an input in the tv
and then from the tv i have a red and white rca output to the logitech speakers, as they have a red and white rca input?
i know i could have the sound running straight from the pc, but i want it running through the tv, so that freeview stuff will also play on the speakers.
(i always want to use 5.1 wherever possible)
Many Many Thanks
Re: Toshiba 42X3030D audio ( pc to tv )
Have the TV output sound to the computer via a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack cable and the speakers connected to the computer. That way what ever is going on the TV comes out the speakers via the PC.
That's how it's set up in my living room, I use the TVs tuner when the PCs tuner is busy recording.

doesn't work. 5.1 only works over coaxial, spdif and HDMI.
If you don't mind stereo you can use the jacks, to get 5.1 your tv would need a coaxial/spdif out.
Next problem would be speakers are not compatible with a digital connection. Only way is to play back through pc.
if you don't mind stereo there are easier solutions.
