Re: Latest Abit IP35 Dark Raider BIOS

Ive placed all the files need for the BIOS update onto a clean floppy disk, but I cant boot from it! Does vista have a different method than XP? Ive set my first boot device to Floppy, but I just get the 'Remove Disk and press any key to restart' message :/

daft question but did you make it a bootable DOS disk?
it should boot from that ahead of the HDD if you have it setup properly so OS on your HDD is immaterial.

Re: Latest Abit IP35 Dark Raider BIOS

I've tried the last BIOS (february), but it seems to be compromised. It is not recognised by the flash utility and I cannot open die BIOS settings menu after POST. Besides some errors.

Everythings works fine with the January version though.

I've never even updated my BIOS for my IP-35 Pro. Any real reason to?

    if it ain't broke ...
most BIOS updates tend to be for things like supporting new CPUs.
You can read the changelogs Universal abit > Motherboard, Digital Speakers, iDome, AirPace, Multimedia
if none are relevant for you just leave as is.

I wonder if it would finally let me run my Patriot memory at the rated 4-4-4-12 timings...
