Best Overclocking uATX Board

Unfortunately due to space restrictions I need to move to a uATX system for my main PC (specs in my system). For the case I'm thinking Silverstone TJ08B

Motherboard is the tricky bit:

Any other better suggestions or one of the above? I want 333mhz out of it at least to get my quad to 3Ghz

Will my Scythe Mine fit in the case?

the mine will fit as my ninja does.

GT will fit too, no problem as there is nothing to get in it's way.

of the two motherboards mentioned you are better off with the gigabyte. Overclocks quite well and has native 1333mhz so you will get at least 3.0GHz out of the q6600.

The board buff mentioned is supposed to have good overclocking features.. not sure as i havn't seen a review. Again it has 1333MHz native but only single channel RAM and two slots at that, whether that changes affects you or not?

That said the single channel RAM didn;t let it down too much in a reviw I read and for the price it's very good.

Well at 3.5GHz my CPU temps are (after 27 hours of Orthos, core temps according to Everest) 58-60 C. When running Folding at home they are 56-58 C and folding with the side off ~51 C. I think the main problem stems from having the CPU cooler pulling its air over the hard drives, I may try spinning the cooler by 90 degrees to see if lower temps are achievable not that 57 C when folding is a real issue.

I didn't have a choice but to do that with the ninja, but once I saw it all setup it kind of makes sense that way.

Quick note the Mine is roughtly the same sive as the ninja without a fan attached, because the mine fan is burried in the middle of it and the total fin size is smaller (although I think there are more fins so it's only slightly samller in total area)

PS Mike and Webby which cases are thoes one's you are useing?

PPS which motherboard is that Mike?

the case is a Silverstone TJ08 - I've got 1 too (with an I-N73HD but only a Zalman 7000Cu HSF).
1 of the better mATX imo due to the 120mm fan mounts & the removable mobo tray.

60C load running at 3.5GHz isnt too shabby at all.
I plan to have a Q6600 running at ~3GHz, just cant decide if I want to build in a huge box or a tiny one

I though P5K-VM was the best mAtx mobo around, its 1333Mhz, overclocks pretty easy, ive tested it to 500Mhz FSB and it goes further than that.....

Hmmm, I'll research than one right now. Its between that and the Gigabyte DS2R. Both have near on idetnical spec from what I can see. Will be ordering in the next few days I reckon so need to decide soon. Any one else wanna chip in?

Will be putting my Abit IP35 Dark Raider and CM Stacker case up for sale some time in the future.

Take that review with a pinch of salt later bios revisions have altered the playing field for the G33m-DS2R and probably the ASUS as well.

For example they only OC the E6550 on the DS2R to a FSB of 396, mine is evidence that it will go a hell of a lot further than that! And some have been pushed up to FSB of 600 (the board not a E6550)

That board you linked to is a no go I'm afraid. Its iG25 so it has only PCI 32bit, I need to 2 for my wifi card and soundcard.

Its between the Gigabyte and the Asus P5K-VM and seeing as the Gigabyte is the only one is stock its easy to decide!
